Collaborative. Integrative. Practical. Mindful

Therapy

.Leanne views therapy as a collaborative process, where therapeutic goals are most effectively achieved through an integrative approach tailored to the unique needs of each client. She draws upon a range of evidence-based therapeutic models that are grounded in robust theoretical frameworks and proven techniques. Leanne incorporates psychodynamic principles to foster deep insight and self-understanding, cognitive-behavioural strategies (CBT) to enhance everyday coping skills, and mindfulness practices to cultivate present-moment awareness with a non-judgmental stance. Leanne is also trained in Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) for adults and children/adolescents. She integrates these modalities to support clients in processing past experiences, identifying and shifting deeply rooted patterns, and fostering long-term emotional healing and resilience.

When working with children, Leanne adopts developmentally informed approaches that consider the child’s age and stage of emotional and cognitive growth. She works within a systemic framework, engaging with the child or adolescent in the context of their broader family environment. Recognising the vital role parents play in therapeutic outcomes, Leanne encourages active parental involvement throughout the treatment process. She places strong emphasis on supporting parents to understand the underlying meaning and function of their child’s behaviours or symptoms. Leanne draws on attachment-based frameworks, acknowledging the central role of secure relationships in promoting psychological well-being. She also provides practical, evidence-based strategies aimed at reducing problematic behaviours, enhancing adaptive coping skills, and strengthening family relationships.

Leanne recognises that the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of effective treatment. Her approach is characterised by compassion, warmth, authenticity, and genuine care.
